The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are now open and may shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a house using a combined gross family income that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined home cash flow does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.
